UBL Executes Complex Logistics Project from Dubai to Israel with Antonov 124 and UBL Delivers 43-Ton Power Station Rotor from Dubai to Israel in Just 72 Hours, Overcoming Regional Challenges!
UBL has successfully completed a high-stakes, multi-modal logistics project involving the transport of a 43-ton, 15-meter-long rotor from a factory in Dubai to the Orot Yosef power station in Ramat Hovav, Israel. The operation, carried out in just 72 hours, required advanced planning, cross-border coordination, and adaptive routing in response to regional security threats.
The centerpiece of the operation was a heavy-lift Antonov 124 aircraft, utilized to airlift the oversized cargo out of Dubai. However, due to ongoing Houthi missile threats in the region, direct landing in Israel was deemed too risky. UBL responded with an innovative and efficient solution: rerouting the aircraft to land safely in Larnaca, Cyprus.
From there, the rotor was transferred via maritime shipping to Israel, followed by a final leg of overland transport to the Orot Yosef power station. The operation included:
Ground transport coordination in Dubai
Air freight via Antonov 124, one of the world’s largest cargo aircraft
Sea freight from Larnaca, Cyprus to Israel
Crane handling and lifting logistics at every stage
End-to-end operational control from supplier to site within 72 hours
“This project showcases UBL’s capability to adapt and deliver under pressure,” said a UBL spokesperson. “Despite geopolitical hurdles and the complexity of handling oversized industrial equipment, our team executed every phase with precision and efficiency.”
