Vector Celebrates B Corp Certification Milestone and Successful Helicopter Shipment
Vector Global Logistics, our X2 Elite member, an award-winning logistics company, is celebrating B Corp Month and the one-year anniversary of its B Corp Certification. As one of over 10,000 global companies with this certification, Vector is highlighting its commitment to social and environmental impact through special B Corp-themed episodes on its podcasts, Logistics With Purpose and Supply Chain en Espanol. Achieving B Corp Certification involves a rigorous evaluation, ensuring a company meets high standards for stakeholder impact, including customers, employees, communities, and the environment.
Co-founders Enrique Alvarez and Brian Oxley emphasized the importance of maximizing stakeholder value and using business as a force for good. As one of the few logistics companies with B Corp Certification, Vector is proud to lead the industry in promoting positive change. The company has planned internal activities like training, a book club, and B Corp Bingo, while also featuring key B Corp leaders in upcoming podcast episodes to further educate and spread the message of sustainability and social responsibility.
They also successfully completed the shipment of an MD 600 N helicopter, showcasing its expertise in handling complex logistics. The helicopter, equipped with a Rolls-Royce 250-C47M turbine engine, has a capacity to carry up to 8 people and a maximum speed of 278 km/h, with a range of approximately 560 km. The shipment, including the disassembled helicopter parts such as the main rotor blades and landing gear skid tubes, was carefully packed into a 40-foot High Cube container. The helicopter was transported from Phoenix, Arizona, to the L.A. California port, with its final destination being San Antonio, Chile. This successful operation highlights Vector’s capabilities in handling high-value, intricate shipments across international borders.
